Positive & Negative Psychological Effects of gaming 

The research topic I have chosen is the positive and negative psychological effects of gaming. I think that this can be a very broad topic, because it has a lot to do with the gaming climate that we currently live in today, with video game addiction becoming very common among teens.

This topic will also be relevant to other researcher's investigations's the topic of 'Progression Mechanics', and the Internal Economy. These are both very important because these two topics might be what is making certain gamer's addicted.

There are a lot of articles and videos on the internet, that talk on the subject of the Negative and positive sides of gaming.

When it comes to researching this certain topic, there is definitely a differing in opinions with this topic, so it should be interesting to see the different variables between researchers.

I also think that this topic can be answered by the assignment's deadline. 

I do think that my research question gives me a clear direction on the questions that need to be asked.

Game Brainstorm

My first game Idea is based on secondary school PE class, and the game will be based on Dodge ball, where you play as a character who is trying to eliminate all his/her appointment's by hitting them with a Dodge ball, it gets progressively harder the higher the level, with an increase in the number of opponents and an increase in their accuracy. There would also be a change in location, depending on how high you climb up in the rankings. Quite a simple idea that I think I can expand on, and broaden. My second idea is inspired by a TV programme called 'Total  wipe out" and it's about contestants having to go through a obstacle course that is surrounded by water. The aim is to avoid going into the water and make it to the other side. There will be a lot of obstacles that will try and knock you off such as the "wall punch" players will have to time there movements in order to avoid the wall of raining fists. I thought the article on MDA was very interesting, It thought me about the iterative, quality and quantitate. And how rules , system fun are the main components for creating a game.
